FRIO FOODS – THE BEGINNING

Processed meat is defined by the South African National Standard (SANS885) as “meat” that has undergone any action that substantially altered its original state; including, but not limited to heating, smoking, curing, fermenting, maturing, drying, marinating (surface application), extraction or extrusion, or any combination of all these mentioned processes. As a processed meat supplier, we pride ourselves on quality meat products and putting our customers’ needs first – whether it is smoked, cured, stewed, grilled, or even on the braai – since South Africans are known for having a passion for braaiing.

We combined South African love for meat and our dream to build a one-of-a-kind meat processing facility. Over the past 13 years we have grown exponentially, expanding our processing facility with state-of-the-art equipment as well as our space to over 8000m2. The heart of Frio Foods lies in its friendly and professional team of over 450 employees. An Internal Logistics Division ensures reliable and efficient deliveries to all our customers, no matter the size of the load.
